I find this disrespectful and appalling!

A digitally altered photo of Princess Diana at 50.  Please, please let this woman (and her family) rest in peace at some point.  I am a little disgusted by this and even more so that they placed her next to William's bride.  How must her children feel about this?

Just awful....

Happy Birthday John Cusack....

Today is John Cusack's 45th birthday.  When I was in high school Lloyd Dobler was all I wanted.  The cute guy, who was a little goofy, but who was not scared to show you how he felt.  This was what dreams were made of....

Happy Birthday Lloyd.  I will always love you and Peter Grabriel's "In Your Eyes".  You made my high school years bearable.

I am a Conservative...but

I am, and have always been, a Conservative when speaking of Political views.  I have never been a "Sarah Palin", I was always more of a "John McCain" (before he ran for President).  My lean to the right has always been about less government, taxes and world policy.  However I have never been a "perfect" Republican because I have two very strong beliefs that definitely lean all the way to the left.  I believe in a woman's right to choose (I always have and it became more pronounced when I had a daughter) and I believe that marriage is about love, between any two people.  With all of that said, I would like to congratulate all of the people who worked so hard to make New York finally recognize Gay Marriage as legal.  This is a true step in the right direction and it makes me happy that anyone who wants to marry, now has that ability.  Now if we could only find David Dust a husband all would be right with the world...

So You Think You Can Dance - Really?

Last week we had to accept the fact that no one was going home.  So now, not only are Jess and Clarice are still in the competition, but Wadi has been sent home.  I am getting a little frustrated with the judges.  Ricky's solo was good but I thought Wadi's was better.  Plus, Ricky and Ryan together drive me bananas for some reason.  I was disappointed with the results last night (obviously) but I will say this.  The routines have been good.  I really loved Jordan and Tadd, Robert and Miranda, Sasha and Alexander and Ashley and Chris.  Just note SYTYCD...if Jess stays and other dancers go in the next few weeks, I will stop watching.  He is annoying, fake and not very good.  Which sucks because I like Clarice.  Does anyone else have an opinion?

Beautiful baby don't you think?

I was just reading that Curtis Stone (hot man and celebrity chef) and Lindsay Price are expecting a baby.  Now if you do not remember who Lindsay Price is, think back to the later years of 90210.  Lindsay Price was Janet who married and had a baby with Steve Sanders.  Also, she was on the much loved but never watched show, Lipstick Jungle.  Anyway, its gonna be a cute baby, so congrats to them both.

3 out of 4 - The Voice

Dammit I really wanted Nakia to be in the finale on The Voice.  I got the other ones right (Beverly, Javier, and Dia) but Nakia lost it to Vicci.  Sad for him but next week should be interesting with all of the talent in the finale 4.  So what do you think...is it between Javier and Dia or will Beverly be the dark horse?

Did anyone watch the Voice last night?

So I watched "The Voice" last night and as much as I am still not a Christina fan, I really love this show.  Here are my predictions for the final 4 tonight?

Cee Lo's team has to be represented by Nakia.  I love him and fat boys so rarely get a chance.

Christina's team should be represented by Beverly.  I am not and have never been a Frenchie fan.  I know that this is not the popular vote but we will see what happens.

Blake is only the one that I am 100% about.  If Dia is not his representative than the voting is rigged.

As for Adam's team, I am obviously going with Javier.  Casey sucked and Javier is awesome.  Enough said.

So what do you think?  Who did I miss?  I did not vote last night (see So You Think You Can Dance post) but I will be interested to see the finalist.

Good Days and Bad Days...

This is the week!  I must begin my good days and bad days calculation so that I can lose a little weight and get my health under control.   I am reporting in to David Dust and trying to create some weight loss camaraderie to get my shit together.  I am starting at 135 and hoping to lose 7 or 8 pounds (my goodness I hate posting my weight but if its out there than I have to acknowledge it).  Good luck to everyone.

Meant to do this last week....

Shame on you Nigel Lythgoe!  So You Think You Can Dance is a show that I actually vote on.  And to have a night that YOU decide not to send anyone home is a complete cop-out.  Was it because you had favorites in the bottom 3 couples?  Or was it because you do not have the balls to make a hard decision?  Whatever the case, I do not want to vote anymore because it does not mean anything.  Just had to get that out before this weeks show.

Here comes 39

I am 39 today!  1 more year until I am 40.  I am feeling old and tired today but I am going to try to have a good birthday.  How in the world did I get here?

Also don't forget that today is Neil Patrick Harris's birthday as well.  Every year I send him a message on Twitter just waiting for the year that he "tweets" me back.  It will happen people.

Have a wonderful day!

The Tonys

Did anyone else watch NPH last night on the Tonys?  I thought he was absolutely terrific and the fact that he sang a song from Company was the icing on the cake.  Great, great show....

I am trying...sorta

So this week the children are in camp all week.  Which gives me the perfect opportunity to go to the gym every day...right?  OK, I did go today (for a brief period of time) but I just cannot get motivated.  Maybe this will help...

So You Think You Can Dance - Top 20

When watching So You Think You Can Dance (or SYTYCD), I have a hard time getting attached during auditions because it always seems that the ones I get attached too, get cut.  So now that I have a Top 20 to choose from, I can pick a couple of favorites...

Wadi Jones - A Hip-Hop dancer from New York.  Wadi had to dance through leg cramps in Vegas and still made it.  Cute smile and looks like he is having fun all the time.

Jordan Casanova -A jazz dancer from California, Jordan has a great smile and a wonderful attitude.  She tried to be a little too sexy in her audition to get noticed but she seems to have spunk as well.

Marko Germar - Another jazz dancer from California, Marko was so talented and he has a story.  He was shot in the shoulder and the bullet is still there.

Ok, so these are my favorites thus far but the show has not started yet.  I might have new favs by next week.  Hope you are watching though, these kids (all of them) are talented.  If you can get past Mary Murphy screaming its a great show.

Is anyone watching The Voice?

Loving the show (and Blake Shelton a lot).  Hating Christina's clothes....

Can you see this outfit...horrible.   Christina honey I know that you can do better.  And this is not it.

Still the show is great!

This could be devastating for me...

NFL prepares for 8-game season contingency plan

As most of you know, I love football.  College, NFL...football in general.  With all of the strike talks going on, the above was the headline yesterday.  8 games...what the hell am I supposed to do with 8 games?  Please, please, please reach an agreement soon.  I count the moments until August and preseason games begin.  If this happens how much longer will I have to wait?

Embarrassed to say I am watching but...

So yes, I watched The Bachelorette last night.  I wanted to see what the hoopla was about and why Chris Harrison stated that it was "the most shocking event ever".  In all fairness to Chris, whose job must just suck sometimes, the whole show left me a little flat.

Of course, Ashley (the bachelorette) had a one-on-one date which went well.  And then she had a group date.  Now who, in their right mind, would think that it would be fun to have a Roast about yourself.  Especially when you are as insecure as this particular bachelorette.  Stupid, stupid, stupid...word of the night I think.  Anyway, Ashley did not take it too well when the boys started "Roasting" her (one in particular) and she left the stage crying.

Now that the date is over, we cut to Bentley, the bad news bachelor this season (there is always one).  This guy has made no secret of the fact that he thinks Ashley is unattractive, not his type and he is just in it for the game.  Its finally time for Bentley to go.  He says goodbye to the boys (who he also snowed) and heads over to say goodbye to Ashley.  "I am going to make her cry" he says, "but I hope my hair looks good".  So he makes up some story about how his daughter is missing him (bless his daughter's heart) and Ashley eats it up....stupid, stupid, stupid.  Bentley is finally gone and Ashley is devastated.  She really liked him, she felt a "connection" with him, she is such a good judge of character...stupid, stupid, stupid.

After Bentley leaves, Ashley has to put on a happy face and have another date.  Poor JP.  He did not deserve what he got (plus he was precious) but he made the best of the date (or hanging with Ashley in her glasses).

So that was what Chris Harrison called, the most shocking episode ever.  It did not go down like I thought it would.  I wanted Ashley to discover what a scumbag Bentley was.  I wanted her to slap Will for being so mean at the Roast.  I wanted something besides the stupidity and the gullibility.  But I got neither.  Stupid, Stupid, Stupid is what I am for watching I know but yet I cannot walk away now.  Oh and by the way, who wants to bet that Bentley shows up on the Bachelor Pad this summer....

The happiest place on Earth!

Yesterday was the last day of school.  Summer has officially begun and what do we decide to do?  Head to Disney for the weekend with the kids.  I voted for the pool and fruit drinks but I lost the battle and we are headed to Orlando.  Dinner at Epcot, Safari tours at Animal Kingdom and Star Wars weekend at Hollywood Studios.  Oh yes the children (and my husband) are psyched.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone....think of me and the crowds.

When the husband is away...

My husband does not travel a lot for his job.  He has occasional trips but for the most part, he is in town.  This week has been the exception.  He has been gone all week and I must say, I am a baby about staying in the house by myself.  I don't sleep well, every little noise makes my stomach jump and then I fear that I will oversleep so I wake up before the alarm and try to will myself back to sleep.  So the week has been bad for my temperment but great for my movie watching.  Especially movies that I know the husband will not like.

Last night, I watched a movie from last year called "The Switch" starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman.  I liked it.  I really did.  I am on the "Jason Bateman just gets better with age" bandwagon and this movie just reiterated that fact.  The basic premise of the movie...2 best friends, she wants a baby, she does not ask him, she gets sperm from a donor, he gets jealous, he replaces the donor sperm with his own, she has kid and so on.  The movie was really well done and even with the ridiculous idea, it all made sense.  If any of you ever saw the movie "About a Boy" with Hugh Grant, this movie has that same feel.  Some parts make you smile but for the most part it is poignant and interesting.  I have read some reviews and they were not great for "The Switch" but I stand by my opinion.  It was enteratining without being overworked, stupid or preachy.

Just a suggestion for your next movie night.
