Project Runway Finale - Are you freaking kidding me?

With all that drama and all that crap about her collection, Anya wins.  God this season has not been great.  No disrespect to Anya because I love what she creates but I am amazed that she won.  Should have been Viktor in my mind.  But at least they picked this...

over this...

Thank goodness the sniveling bitch did not win (and by this I mean Mr. Spray Tan himself Josh M.).  Yep, PR is still smarting from the Gretchen fiasco last season.  They had to pick someone likable.  Anyway, the season is done and I am looking forward to the all-stars.  Later all.

Did anyone else see this?

Morgan Wilson, Top Chef Finalist, Indicted on Child Porn Charges...just read this article (see full article here) and I was a little shocked (grossed out, surprised) but then not. If you remember this guy from Top Chef Just Desserts, he was a bit of an asshole and a little strange. Not that I would have thought this....but he could easily pass for someone that could give you the heebie jeebies.

Maybe Bravo needs to be a little more careful with their vetting.  Just sayin...

A Perfect Sunday...

It's sunny and cool (well cooler) in South Florida today.  A nice breeze, with the windows open and football on the television.  Just had fried chicken for lunch with sweet tea.  Yeah, I am not sure that it gets much better.  I am off to watch the one o'clock NFL games.  Happy Sunday my friends.

Modern Family - What was your favorite line?

Last night on Modern Family, I laughed a lot.  I think I really want to hang out with Drunk Claire.  Plus, does everyone want to have dad like Phil?  Just sayin...  Anyway, best line of the night (according to me)

its a toss up between

Claire saying to Mitchell and Cam, disappointed that they had not planned a fabulous night for her, "if that was your gay card it would have just been revoked"

or... Phil as he high fived a collegiate who was shading his eyes from the sun (of which Haley pointed out) , "knew it when I did it"

Now I know for both you needed to see the scene with it to laugh, but laugh I did.   Oh and Phil joining in with the cheerleaders and the Bull dog "frog" noise" both hilarious.

Any thoughts?

Bless her heart....

what is it with celebrities forgetting to put pants on when they go out?  this is a t-shirt xtina...a T-SHIRT!

Monday is becoming my favorite night of Television

Mondays in general suck.  However, Monday night television on the CW is becoming better and better.  Gossip Girl is so fun this season and Hart of Dixie is thought free fluff.  And I love them both.  Last night on Hart of Dixie there was a heat wave in Bluebell, Alabama.  So this is what we got to see for an hour....

Yeah it was fun all around...

Moody Moody...

I have been a little bit moody lately.  Just a lot going on and I have not been in the best of moods.  So if I have not commented on your posts or been a little out of touch, please note that you are not alone and I am reading just not posting.  My comments sound snappy and not cute in my head these days.  So here's to a good week ahead.  Happy Monday my friends.

I want this bra...

Miranda Kerr drew the long straw (is that the saying) and gets to walk the runway for Victoria's Secret in the $2.5 million bra for the Christmas show.

yep...I want the bra.

Modern Family last night

Last night's episode was not my favorite on Modern Family.  But (large but) even when this show is having an "off" week, it is still the most hilarious 30 minutes of the week.  There were a few lines and situations that stuck out last night and made me smile (a lot).

Gloria, "really Manny, you want me to learn you English."

Phil, "you're easy on the eyes when you put a little effort into it."

Cam running down the street in his pink shirt...just because.

Mitchell and his grass stains...

Luke, "Police!  Aren't they too busy winning the war on drugs?"

Cam, "shotgun"  Mitchell, "no, no weapons"

If you saw the show you would understand but the other thing I found funny was Alex, drugged out from medicine and Phil trying to keep her looking wide awake so Clair would not know.  When he nonchalantly sat on her arm so she would not fall over, I lost it.  Small moment but so funny.  Anyway, did anyone else think the show was a little off last night?  Was it still funny to you?

I could not resist...

Every year around this time, I become more of a redneck than normal.  I don't know if it is because its football season or because I like country music in the fall.  Whatever it is, I found this funny and I had to share.  Happy week ahead my friends.

Leggings and such...

I think that I may have mentioned that my freshman year of college I lost 30 pounds.  With this said, I then decided that I was going to wear clothes that left little to the imagination (see Listen to your mother #3).  Lots of short, tight skirts and leggings (or stretch pants) with the shirts tucked in.  So it was no surprise that my college roommate sent me this picture as a laugh.  Just thought it was funny.  Happy Saturday my friends.

How do you explain same-sex without the sex?

My 10 year old son and I were watching The Amazing Race the other night.  One of the couples came up and under their names was the description, domestic partners.  Of course my curious son then looked at me and asked, "hey mom what's a domestic partner?" and "does that mean they are gay?"  This was it!  One of those defining moments as a parent in which what you say and how you handle yourself would be remembered forever.  I took a deep breath and.....

Real quick lets back up...as most of you know, I am a Republican.  I consider myself a liberal Republican but I am, in fact, a Republican.  There are 2 main things that I am extremely liberal in my thinking and one of them is gay rights.  I grew up in a small southern town with a conservative father and a more liberal mother.  My mom loved the theater and spent her summers performing in the local theater productions.  This is where we spent our summers as well which, as you can imagine, gave us the opportunity to meet many different types of people.  And for those of you conservative blowholes...no the gay people did not rub off on me and make me gay.  Actually maybe they did rub off on me because I ( and my 3 siblings) was always very comfortable backstage at the theater and we grew up counting many of this group among our good family friends.  After college I went to work at a large corporation (a Bank) in a department called Survivor Support (Death benefits).  This is when I really realized where I stood on gay rights.  I had been vocal about the need for a civil union for the gay community but I was still unsure about marriage (I am nothing if not traditional).  But after handling death benefits for a number of domestic partners and realizing that there were couples that had been together for 15 years and still had no rights, I modified my thinking and realized that marriage was the only way to make sure that equal rights became a reality.  OK so back to Sunday night...

I looked at my son at age 10 and realized that I was not ready to have a sex talk but I also realized that if at age 15 or 21 or 28 he came to me to tell me that he was gay, I wanted his memories of this conversation to be positive.  So I explained, as best I could, that God makes everyone differently.  Some people are black, some people are white, some men like women and some men like men. I further explained that there was nothing wrong or off about this but that he might hear negative words or opinions because people are always scared of anything that they do not understand.  He seemed to accept this and then he said, "well it must suck if you like another man because then you cannot have children, oh wait you can adopt kids, right mom, because plenty of kids need good homes." and that was it.  We continued to watch our show and he seemed content.  Whew, one hard conversation down, only about 1000 or more to go.

Goodbye to the Playboy Club

I just got home and discovered that one of the new shows that I actually liked this season has already been cancelled.  I know, I know The Playboy Club was not well liked by the critics (or anyone else for that matter) but I liked it.  It was a fun, decadent, soap opera and I found the show enjoyable.  But, after 3 episodes, NBC has axed the show (I hate it when networks do this) and I must find another show that sparks my interest.  Goodbye to the bunnies and goodbye to Eddie Cibrian (the hottie).

Check it out...

I watched a new show on the CW last week and forgot to mention it.  Hart of Dixie stars the adorable Rachel Bilson as Dr. Zoe Hart.  She is a doctor from the big city who takes a job in Bluebell, Alabama.  Think Doc Hollywood...Anyway, the show is cute and the supporting cast is cuter.  From Scott Porter (FNL fame) to Cress Williams (from 90210 to FNL) and Jamie King (Pearl Harbor).  I like the show and am back for a 2nd week.  Look into it.
