Emmy Nominations - Well hmmm

I want to begin this by saying, I have an immature view of television.  I enjoy television as a diversion from my life and to that effect, I do not want to be made to think too much.  I love comedies and dramas but my dramas have to be with a hint of comedy.  Who wants to switch off the television and be depressed, I mean really what is the point.  So with all of that said, I have many, many issues with the Emmy nominations.

  • Once Upon a Time is one of the most creative shows on television and no one thinks it is worthy of any awards?
  • Has anyone seen Casey Wilson on Happy Endings?  Her character is one of the funniest on television and she does not get a nod?
  • No drama on network television was nominated.  Not one!  Revenge, Fringe, Once Upon a Time, The Good Wife, Parenthood and I could go on.  Many people in this world do not have cable.  Just sayin.
  • Veep and Girls over Cougartown, How I Met Your Mother (one of its best seasons this year), Happy Endings, New Girl and so on.  Just because a show is on HBO does not mean that it is good.
  • I feel as if the supporting acting categories have been taken over by Modern Family this year.  I love the show.  I do.  But do all of them deserve to be on the list this year?
I could go on and I am sorry.  Ya''ll know I love the award shows and this one in particular because I am such a television fanatic.  I watch a lot of television!  I just have a hard time stomaching the fact that I am looking at a list of nominations of people on shows that I never watch.

Shout Out to How I Met Your Mother

We still don't know who the mother is. And we have no idea what is going to happen with Barney and Robin. But last night's episode of How I Met Your Mother was strangely satisfying. Between Robin "Mosbying" Barney (telling someone you love them to scare them off), Marshall attempting to jump buildings, and Ted wrestling with a goat; the episode was a great ending to yet another wonderful year. Plus CBS has renewed the show for another season. I love a good season finale!

HIMYM - Season Finale Tonight!

Will Barney declare his love for Robin tonight? Are we any closer to figuring out who the "mother" is? And what is up with the goat? Stay tuned for the season finale of How I Met Your Mother tonight. Please let it be funny, please let it be funny, please let it be funny....

Did we meet the Mother?

Last night on How I Met Your Mother, Ted tried to show his future children how unrelated incidents could lead to an important event. From Barney's 200th conquest (gross but hilarious), to Robin having food poisoning and on to Marshall's addiction to graphs; everything has a purpose. These events led to Ted meeting Stella on the street. Now does this mean that Stella (remember she left Ted at the alter) is the mother? Or does this mean that Ted meeting Stella is going to lead him to the children's mother?

How I Met Your Mother

Did anyone else watch last night's episode of How I Met Your Mother? Hilarious!!! Absolutely fabulous!! I was literally laughing out loud. Just wanted to know if there is anyone else out there who loves the show as much as I do. The reference to A few Good Men was priceless: Ted finds out that Lily has sabotaged more than one of his past relationships (because of her retiree front porch test) and demands the truth. And of course the "discussion" between Marshall and Barney about men in nightshirts was just as funny. But I have to say that the funniest moments of the show were when everything is going on in the living room (Ted and Lily fighting, Marshall and Barney having the pajama discussion) and in the background on television Robin is doing her morning talk show in which every major event happens, all at one time. I did not know which part to pay more attention to. I wanted to give a shout out to the show because I have not laughed that hard since....The Naked Man episode (or was it the Whoo girls?).

How I Met Your Mother - The Naked Man

I just wanted to give a brief shout out (do people still do that?) to last night''s episode of How I Met Your Mother. I have not laughed that hard in a long time and I must say, if you missed it, go online and watch it.

Last night Robin went on a date with a dork of a man but she ended up sleeping with him because he pulled the "naked man" on her. The "naked man" basically meant that when Robin left the room, the guy stripped down and greeted her with nothing on. Robin laughed and then slept with him. Barney and Ted were fascinated and decided to try out the "naked man" to see if it worked the 2 out of 3 times that the guy promised. While both were on their repsective dates they had to discuss how to pose when greeting their date with the "naked man". Hilarity ensued as both Barney and Ted came up with a variety of poses to best display the "naked man".

Please, please, please watch this show. I adore it and I can find nothing as funny on television. I am still laughing at Ted doing the "Mr. Clean" preparing for his date.

Two Shows to Check Out (if you are not already)

I just read an article on EW.com that both Chuck and How I Met Your Mother are struggling in the ratings. Both of these shows are on my radar (and in my Tivo inbox) I just don't discuss them because of so many others. Some shows I just want to watch for pleasure people.

Anyway, just a shout out to you all. Check out both of these shows if you are not already. Zachary Levi as Chuck is hilarious and really pulls off the goofy, James Bond thing (if that is possible) really well. As for Neil Patrick Harris on How I Met Your Mother; well you all know how I feel about him. He was robbed at the Emmy's; robbed (sorry Jeremy Piven)! His character Barney is the funniest, most awesome character on television right now.
