Glee!

I watched the season premiere of Glee last night and real quick before I go to work...thoughts...

• Kate Hudson was phenomenal.  Her body is incredible and her character was a combination of Satan and a drunk as a washed up dance teacher.  Awesome!

• Liking the new blood on the "team" this season so far.  The addition of Puck's brother (played by Jacob Artist ) and Marley the lunch lady's daughter (Melissa Benoist) are going to be fun and both voices are strong.
• Loved the "who will be the next Rachel" storyline and as much as people trash it "Call Me Maybe" is a fun tune. 
• Not sure about the addition of Wade/Unique.  Will have to see how that one plays...
• Love Kurt's dad and watching him send Kurt to New York.  
• Rachel's dorm boy is cute (don't know who he is but does this mean the end for Finchel)

Not all of my questions were answered about the Lima kids but  the premiere set things up to hopefully have a good season.  Little concerned about the number of storylines but as always it will be interesting to watch.

Glee - Out of Body Nationals

Last night's super-sized Glee was fun (love it when they find the fun again) but I must admit a little disappointing.  All the hoopla about Lohan being on the show and basically she had 3 (maybe 4) lines.  Plus, and I know we say this all the time, she looks nothing like her former self.  Pictured below is the actress formerly known as Lohan....

Anyway, some of my favorite moments from last night...

• Tina becoming Rachel, Puck and Finn becoming Kurt and Blaine, Mercedes as Brittany, Artie as Santana and so on.  It was a great dream sequence and I loved watching everyone mimicking their friends.  
• Puck and Beiste singing Mean by Taylor Swift.  I actually like this song a lot and this song was one that actually fit right into the plot seamlessly.
• Love love love Paradise by the Dashboard Light and I love that this was the vintage song that New Directions chose to sing.
• Unique from Vocal Adrenaline was awesome.  That boy/girl has some stage presence.  
• Of course it was great that New Directions won but even better Schue won for Teacher of the Year and the performance of We are the Champions!

All and all a great 2 hours of television but it really made me wonder, what will happen when all the people that I love leave?  Will Glee be Glee without Puck, Mercedes, Tina, Kurt, Rachel and Finn (and Sam and Quinn and Artie and Brittany and Santana and so on).  With graduation coming what is going to happen? 

Lots on my mind...help!

Crazy time right now and I have not been posting as much.  Plus I am struggling with something and I need to put it out there.  Last week on Glee (did you see it? the first Whitney song was the best of the season) there was some rumblings of Kurt cheating on Blaine based on a "texting" relationship.  As this is airing, I am listening to a co-worker who is upset about finding emails from her husband and another woman.  Is this cheating? 

The texting on Glee was flirty and fun and constant.  Chandler (the other boy) was crushing on Kurt and was flirting outrageously.  And Kurt was flirting back, acknowledging that this "other boy" was giving him something that Blaine was not. 

My co-worker found emails that spanned a year and even though the husband denies anything physical happening, the emails were constant and (in my opinion) inappropriate.  "Wish you were here", "love to see you in the shower" kind of stuff. 

So my question is, how mad would you be?  Is this cheating?  If you are relying on someone else to give you something that your partner cannot or is not giving you, are you being unfaithful?  And, is this enough to end a relationship?  I guess I am just wondering where you draw the line and once you step over that line, can you go back?  Anyone????

Glee - I will never understand....

I am not going to get all sappy and preachy about last night's episode of Glee but I wanted to just say a couple of things about a very emotional hour.  If you have not watched "SPOILER ALERT"

Dave Karofsky (of the making Kurt's life a living hell Dave Karofsky) had finally come out of the closet and after a week of bullying ( and the word Fag on his locker) he decided to take his own life.  Now I know that this is a timely matter.  I read enough blogs and admire enough Gay people to know that this is not a fictional life event. 

However, I am going to admit my shortcomings here.  I am straight...and white...and middle-class.  I have never known anything like this in my life.  Sure, I had bad skin and braces and was picked on in middle school (middle schoolers suck!) but even in my darkest hour, I knew that eventually life would get a little easier (or at least I hoped).  So watching this boy, in pain, and knowing that this was something that could not go away (even though his mother thought it was a disease) was hard to watch.  I know that what I was watching is fictional but reading the newspaper stories and seeing the news makes me realize that the bullying and non-acceptance happens on a daily, if not hourly, basis. 

I watched a dumb movie called Soul Man years ago.  I don't know if you saw it but the basic premise was a white boy took skin darkening pills to get a scholarship to Harvard as a minority.  At the end of the movie Mufasa, no Darth Vader, OK you know who I mean was so impressed with what this boy had learned by being black and realizing the racial struggles in the world.  And this boy, in all his infinite wisdom said that no he did not know what it was like to be black because at any time he could go back to being white. 

I can empathize with my blogger friends who are gay as they discuss trying to get equal rights.  I can be supportive and accept that being gay is how people are made and it is not a choice.  But will I ever really understand the trials, tribulations and struggles this population of people go through on a day to day basis?  Nope I will not.  This does not mean that I will stop being supportive.  It just means that I can never fully understand the depths of despairs that a child put in this position must get to, to take his or her own life.  It also means that as a parent I will love and support my children always...

Oh and by the way, sucky ending Glee for a show that is supposed to be a dramedy.  Is Quinn dead?  Really?  And now we will not know until April. 

Did anyone watch Glee last night...

OK, I know that I have had some complaints this year about Glee.  I felt that it had lost some of the joy.  Well last night, I am not sure if it was the return trip to Sectionals or that Sam is back (thank goodness) or that it was a Jackson family spectactular (Man in the Mirror is one of my favorites) but last nights episode was so great.  I loved it.  I really, really loved it.  I hope that this is the beginning of a return to the Glee of it all.  What did you think?  Did you like it as much as I did or did I just get lost in the Jackson extravaganza?

I think I have lost my Glee...

Ok I am really having a hard time with this.  I have loved Glee from the beginning. I watch episodes and re-watch performances because I admire true talent (I think it is because I have none).  With this said, this season has really disappointed me.  I know that many of you will landblast me for this opinion but I am bored and just not interested. 

Maybe the show has lost a little of the joy, maybe I hate the fact that the Glee club has split, maybe I think it is dumb that some kid from a reality show has a spot on the show but has no point to the storyline, maybe Santana has just gotten meaner and meaner with no sliver of decency, maybe Finn and Rachel are boring, maybe I miss Artie and Tina and Mercedes and all the other great characters that we never see anymore, and I could go on. 

Is it just me?  Is the show going through a natural progression and I am stuck in the first year?  I don't know but I am not rushing to watch the show in real time anymore and that tells me something.  Love to hear other thoughts on this.  Happy Hump Day!

Which New Shows Are You Watching....

I know that we are only halfway through the first week of new shows but I wanted to find out what people were watching and what has spiked interest among the old and the new shows so far this season.  Here is what I have watched and what I think (if you care)...

Monday Night:
How I Met Your Mother - Of course I watched both episodes and I am excited about the new season.  Robin's back in love with Barney, Barney has a thing for Nora, Marshall and Lily are finally expecting and Ted glimpses Victoria (remember the cupcake girl from Season 1 or 2).  I thought that the first two episodes were great and my husband is still walking around saying "Edward 40-hands".  Can't wait...
Two and a Half Men - I had to watch.  I have never watched before and I could not resist the hoopla.  Without knowing any of the back story I must say, it was not half bad.  I might watch again just to see how Ashton does.  It was funny and they handled the death of Charlie really well.
2 Broke Girls - Sort of cute.  I might check it out again.  2 girls working as waitresses both down on their luck.  Not sure if it will stay on the list or not.  There is something appealing about it. 
The Playboy Club - OK, I know that this has been panned by the critics and I watched thinking I would hate it.  Guess what, I didn't.  I actually really liked it.  Its a Soap Opera, no doubt but there is something fascinating about this lifestyle and time period and I really liked it.  Plus Eddie Cibrian is hot as shit.  Will watch again for sure. 

Tuesday Night:
Glee - I am really, really hoping to get back to the greatness of Season 1 this year.  The premiere was not as promising as I would have liked and there are too many other things to watch now if the Glee people don't get it together.  It was not bad.  I just got bored about halfway through and I do not like that feeling.  Of course I will continue to watch but I am hoping to get back to the beginning. 
Ringer - I watched the Pilot last week with Sarah Michelle Gellar and I liked it.  It was intriguing and confusing all at the same time.  I have not watched episode 2 yet but I think that the show will hold my attention.  I am hoping for that anyway. 
The New Girl - My favorite new show thus far.  How cute is Zooey Deschanel?  This show has the premise and promise to be great and judging by the pilot I am excited.  I know that there will be some casting changes but the show seems like something special. 

OK these are the ones I have watched.  Have I missed anything?  Oh and I did watch Up All Night last week but figured I would mention that one on Friday with my Wednesday and Friday posts.  What did you think?  Was I right about The Playboy Club or did you think it was cheesy?  God I love the new television season.  Wondering which show will be the first to get cancelled.

Glee - Tonight

Don't deny it...everyone has been looking forward to tonight's season finale of Glee.  Especially since the last two weeks of the show have actually shown a new spark.  So expectations were high and well....I am not sure that tonight lived up to my expectations.  Don't get me wrong, there was some good stuff, buuuuut the entire thing felt like they were trying too hard.  A few things before I go to bed....

• Nothing compared to Rachel and Kurt's duet.  I was never a fan of the show Wicked (do not hang me in effigy) but the music is incomparable and this was evident tonight.

• Loving the twist about Sam and Mercedes.  Glad that the diva is finally getting a man.  Cannot wait to see where it goes.

• I did not love the music overall.  I know that I should love the fact that the group is doing original songs, but I miss the hits.  And did anyone else feel like Matthew Morrison's solo seemed like a music video (or blatant salesmanship). 

If I wake up in the morning and have more to say, than I will.  That's it for tonight though.  What did you think?  Anything great that I missed....

Glee favorites last night...

I know that some in the blogosphere gave last night's Glee episode a less than stellar review but I must admit, I loved it.  From the clothes to the songs to the "drama", I thought the entire hour was a complete joy to watch.  It kind of made me want to go back and do prom all over again.  Although at my prom, my date was a friend (who I still think is gay) so the romance factor was not there for me.  Anyway, I digress, here are my favorite moments from last night...

• Brittany's dress was awesome, including the tiny hat in her hair.  The entire ensemble rocked and has really established Brittany as one of my favorites.  

• Loved when Kurt called Santana Satan...just a slip of the tongue.

• Hate the song, loved the fun of it.  The boys singing Friday.  

• Artie's hair.  Love or hate it, at least he was different.

• Dancing Queen was fun and a wonderful way to end the episode.

• On that note, I loved the prom pictures at the end as well.  Still smiling at Brittany and Artie.

I am still unsure about Kurt winning prom queen.  I understood why, but it was an emotional roller coaster during what should have been a lighthearted episode.  Also, on the fence about Jesse St. James returning.  But my goodness he has some pipes.

And things I hated....Finn/Rachel/Quinn thing.  I am over it already.  Sad that Finn missed the prom but lets move on.  Pick one or the other. 

So what did you think about last night?  Did I miss anything?  I really, really enjoyed it and I am relieved.  I was becoming a little less excited about Glee.  Now the excitement is back.

Best line of the night on Glee

Just watched Glee from last night.  Hands down the best line of the night was uttered by Santana (newly discovered closet Lesbian), "the only straight I am is straight up bitch!"  Loved it.  Absolute genius...

PS  Missing everyone.  Just busy but I am trying to keep up.

Glee last night..

Did anyone else watch Glee last night?  I am unsure of this one.  Now don't get me wrong, I adore Gwyneth but I could have done without the Prince song.  And the Santana thing seemed a little contrived.  I love the Kurt story and last night was no exception.  The interaction between he and his Dad is what all parents aspire to be.  But does it seem as if they are pushing it just a little with humanizing Santana.  I like her bitchy, I like her slutty.  I don't know if I want her to be human.  I know I am all over the place but I was just thinking how bizarre the entire episode was.  I mean Emma is still a virgin and has been married for 4 months.  Anyway, does anyone else have any comments or thoughts...

NPH is having a good month...

First I had to congratulate him for the impending birth of twins, now this.  Neil Patrick Harris won two Emmy's at the Creative Arts Emmys Celebration the other night.  One was for the Tony awards and the other was for the guest appearance on Glee!  He is having a wonderful August and I do hope that it continues.  By the way, if you missed NPH on Glee, the performance of Dream On with Matthew Morrison and Mr. Harris is pure joy!  http://www.fox.com/watch/glee/87688503001

Glee!

I just wanted to say a few quick things about Glee last night (I have to go to work); Awesome, awesome and awesome! The fact that our Gleek kids went back to what made us love them in the first place and sang a collection of Journey songs made me all warm and fuzzy inside. I loved the whole performance (a little disappointed that we had less Mercedes and Kurt but beggars cannot be choosers) and really thought that they were going to win. Vocal Adrenaline was good (OK the performance was great) but it seemed a showcase for Jesse St. James and no one else (just saying). The Sue factor was expected (I thought she would vote for them eventually) but the Emma thing was a little out of the blue (we will have to see what happens with that one). I really enjoyed the whole thing and liked the nice twist of Shelby adopting Quinn's baby girl (everyone deserves a second chance). Is anyone else sad to see the show go for the summer? I am actually excited about the reruns this summer. What did you think of last night?

Another Reason to Love Glee...

Glee is the Sh#t!

I must meet Neil Patrick Harris! He is now on my list of the things to do (not do just meet) before I die. After last weeks lackluster episode of Glee I had high hopes for tonight's episode with special guest NPH and he (and the show too) lived up to my expectations. The "Dream On" duet with NPH and Matthew Morrison was probably one of my favorite moments of the season. Absolutely amazing and hilarious at the same time.

The minute I think the show might run out of ideas and then the "dream" episode is upon us. Plus all of our "dreams" have come to fruition. Idina Menzel is in fact Rachel's mother (I mean how could she not be; look at her). My goodness her voice is spectacular. And we were all right, Jesse was never in to Rachel, he was just doing an acting exercise to help his vocal coach.

Great episode once again to a show that never fails to put a smile on my face. Oh and Neil Patrick Harris is awesome if you have any doubts about my obsession (is it OK for me to be obsessed with a gay man when I am a straight woman?).

The Week That Was...

I know, I know I have not posted all week. This week was my last week of preschool for the year (yeah) and I had a lot of loose ends to tie up at work. Then on top of that, I got sick (fever, sore throat etc). Then, on top of that, I had my daughter's birthday party today (her birthday was a few weeks ago but party was today). I have been trying to read the blogs but my mind has not been able to write anything. With that said, I have a few comments about some of the shows this week.

The Amazing Race - I was extremely disappointed that Jet and Cord (the cowboys) did not win. They deserved it and I loved the way they ran the race. I did not hate on Caite as much as most so I was a little taken aback by Carol (or Brandy forget which one) attacking her at the finish line.

Glee - Always love the show but this weeks episode was not as great as some have been. I loved (and will continue to love) the story of Kurt and his Dad but I do feel like we keep reliving the same thing (upset gay son, dad understands, dad and gay son hug).

Modern Family - Most of the time the funniest show on television and when Mitchell says to Cam (about Lily in jungle prints) "she might get confused and think she is back in Vietnam" I thought I was going to lose my shit.

Friday Night Lights - Hands down the best show ever. I adore Landry and his facial expressions and the breakdown of Luke (Dillon Panther boy) was so honest and heartfelt I got a little teared up. And when Tami basically said screw you to JD McCoy I wanted to shout out "I will survive sucker". Watch this show...just watch it. Oh and interesting fact - The guy who plays Luke (formerly he was on Lipstick Jungle) graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts which is where my sister graduated from. Just thought this was reportable.

I think that this is everything. I will try to be better this week. The last few weeks of school just seem to be going way too fast. Let me know how everyone is doing please....

Glee is so my show....

Embarrassing fact (about me) #123 - One of the first concerts that I ever went to (and enjoyed) was a MC Hammer concert. Guess who the opening act was? Yep you guessed it; Vanilla Ice! Glee just gets me.

The One We Have All Been Waiting For.....

Tonight is the night. The Madonna episode on Glee. I feel as if we should all sing while the clouds part, the sun comes out and Madonna herself smiles down on us all. I! Am! So! Excited! Please do not disappoint.

I am GLEE-ful Tonight!

The countdown is over....Glee is returning tonight people. I am so excited and might actually stay up past 10 to watch the new episode. Yeah....

NPH on Glee Details...

Michael Ausiello is my God. He has discovered the information about Neil Patrick Harris' Glee appearance (EW.com). Read below:

It’s official: Neil Patrick Harris’ forthcoming guest appearance on Glee will without a doubt be legen — wait for it… here it comes — dary.

I just got my hands on some fresh intel surrounding Harris’ role in the Joss Whedon-helmed episode, so you best stop reading, spoilerphobes!

According to a Glee insider, NPH will play Bryan Adam (ha!), a high school glee club nemesis of Will’s (Matthew Morrison) who resurfaces as a board member at William McKinley.

“Flashback scenes will show Bryan picking up girls and getting all the cool solos,” reveals the source, “while Will sits off in the sidelines.”

The stage for a present-day rematch is set when Harris’ character announces his intent to cut the arts programs at the school. “Show choir ruined his life, made him feel he could be a star, but all he could do is book Carnival cruises,” explains the insider. “Now he wants vengeance.”

The episode — which I’m told features a climactic duet between Harris and Morrison — goes before the cameras next week and is slated to air during May sweeps.

Legen — wait for it… here it comes — dary stuff, right?

BTW, Glee returns with the first of nine new episodes in 40 days.

I am so excited about this news and cannot wait until Glee returns (have I said this too much).
