I know that in the next week I will be unable to post or do anything else. I wanted to say to all of my blogger friends, Have a Merry Christmas. I will be back in the New Year with more to say (How I Met Your Mother last night and even Gossip Girl ended and my brain is stuck). I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday and please just love your loved ones (a lot). My love and best wishes to you all...

Now we get down to business...
Project Runway All-Stars last night continued with the trimming of the fat (or the non-talented) and SPOILER ALERT....Andrae is gone, "Oh Dear". So we no longer have his over-affected fake accent trying to explain how a zipper dress is based on a girl in a photo. His goodbye speech was so condescending and out there one has to wonder if he was (a) either on something or (b) really so clueless that he believes that any of us are going to take him seriously. Or choose him as fan favorite?!
I am glad Andre is gone. I loved him on his season (OK love is a little strong but I at least tolerated him) but he has become this fake person vying for minutes that I really am not crazy about (its all about the TV Time). I feel like the remainder of the designers (and when I say designers I mean designers) will not only make for good television but will show us all some amazing work.

Do you agree?
Channing Tatum was named the Sexiest Man Alive today by People magazine. It was not a BIG surprise only because 2012 has been the year of Channing (hello Magic Mike). Now the question is fair readers, do you agree with People mag or should it have been someone else this year? And if it should have been someone else, who?
I am going to have to agree....

HIMYM - Splitsville...Finally?
I have been remiss in mentioning my favorite show lately (ya'll know its How I Met Your Mother). Frankly the episodes have been forgettable and not as laugh out loud funny as in the past (remember The Naked Man, Whoo Girls, 3 Day rule etc...). But last night, while it was not laugh out loud funny, this episode moved us closer to the goal of the show (no not finding the mother, the reconciliation of Barney and Robin). And Nick, played by Michael Trucco, really was cute with his hot, dumb character.
I have read the comments, perused the blogs and know that many people are sick of the show and think it has run its course. I, on the other hand, am still invested in these characters and want to see them happy. Plus there are still those episodes that are so creative and funny (plus NPH people) that I cannot turn away.
I laughed last night (no not guffawed but I did laugh) and I was moved by the final scene with Barney and Robin. We are getting there people just don't give up just yet.

The End of the World as we Know it....
Are you sitting down? How will we live in a world in which The Biebs and the Gomez have split. Can we go on living? Will they ever find another love like this? Doesn't everyone find their soul mate at 17 and settle down (OK maybe in NC or West Virginia, not in real life)? I hope that you all will be able to hold your heads up, get out of bed and take it day by day. The Biebs will have a new girl in 2 weeks...

Daddy Cat?????
Last night on Project Runway All-Stars I got my wish. No my wish was not a graffiti inspired challenge (although I must admit the challenge itself was pretty creative) my wish was for "Suede Out". And he is! I appreciate the fact that we are getting down to the real designers and not focusing on the people that are only in it for the TV time (Suede, Wendy, Andre is hopefully next). So the challenge was interesting, I actually liked who won (Emilio) and I was happy with the auf'd. All in all a productive night.
One small bitch...in a world that everything must be politically correct are we really now calling graffiti artists aerosol artists? Seriously?
Tivo Mom out! Oh and how can I name myself Daddy Cat (or Momma Cat for that matter). I must get a better nickname.

Today is the day...
I try to stay away from political talk. Its not that I don't read the posts from my blogger peeps but I do not comment. Some of my views differ from my friends. That is what America is all about. I am allowed to have different views and ideas in hopes that my friends will accept that and still accept me.
Today as we vote for a new president, whomever it may be, I hope that everyone votes and that at the end of the day we all come together to support our (notice I said our) President.
Good luck to all of the differing parties today. This one is big but I hope that at the end the outcome will benefit us all.
Happy Election Day!

Ding Dong the Witch is Dead...I guess
Project Runway All-Stars last night was inspired by the 70's. Wendy Pepper's outfit was inspired by Breakin 2 Electric Bugaloo. So Wendy Pepper went home. Now I don't like Wendy (I watched season 1 and I loved Austin Scarlett at the time) but has she aged and become sweeter or was she just playing everyone. And the relationship with Suede, real or not real? Anyway she is gone and we will never know. Not upset by this elimination at all. But many unanswered questions.
Oh and can Suede go next (Blue Suede my ass)....
Happy Friday!

Halloween has come and gone...
I am not a fan of Halloween. I know, I know it is fun to dress up and my kids love the candy (as I try to slowly remove it from the house so I won't eat it) but I don't like to be scared. I hate scary movies, haunted houses etc... Just not my thing. So imagine my good humor when my sweet (sweet) children told me what they wanted to be for Halloween. My little girl with her pretty bows and long, curly hair wanted to be a black ninja (as opposed to white or red) and my preppy little boy wanted to be a phantom with a scythe. And because it was Halloween and I am the best mom ever (not) and I did not want the fight....I gave in. So here it is, the picture of my sweet sweet children in which you cannot see their faces because of the costumes. Happy belated Halloween. And welcome Thanksgiving!

This should be good....
The Husband turns 40 this weekend. I have been remiss in my blogging lately because I am planning a party. It is going to be huge! OK not really huge but it should be fun. I gave him two choices of theme (I love a good theme party) and between 80's throwback and White Trash Bash, he chose...yep you guessed it; White Trash Bash! I am in the process of decorating my house, think clotheslines and leopard prints, and figuring out drinks, think canned beer and box wine (by the way my redneck self loves box wine) and Boone's Farm and of course the food, think squeeze cheese and crackers, pigs in a blanket, fried chicken, and jello shots (is that a food). Anyone ever had Boone's Farm? I went to Total Wine the other day to find it and the guy had to do a price check over the intercom. I think he did it just to embarrass me.
Anyway, I am a little stressed but I will be back with a vengeance as soon as the party is over. I will let you know about some of the outfits as well. I am really excited to see what people wear. Missing everyone a lot. Trying my best to keep up with ya'll....

Once Upon a Time
Is anyone else loving Once Upon a Time this season? I just watched this week's episode and I am extremely confused but loving this season. The evil queen, her mother, Snow disappearing from Storybrook toFar, Far, Away (Shrek land), Rumple/Gold's antics, all of it has me wanting more. And yes I am lost constantly (ha ha I said Lost) but for some reason it makes the show even more enjoyable. And I must say, Lana Parrilla as the Regina/The Evil Queen is having an amazing season so far. Her scenes both with her mother (played by the magnificent Barbara Hershey) and with Henry were some of the best I have seen thus far. Watch this show. Get confused by this show. Lose yourself all the way to Far, Far Away with this show.

Project Runway - Babies really?
As I watched the show last night, and the 12th commercial for Heidi's new line at Babies R Us (talk about product placement) all I kept thinking was, this might have been funny if Ven was still around. Otherwise, last night sucked. Harsh words I know but I am just over this season of Project Runway. The challenge itself was not too horrible (Ok it was but I am trying here). Design an outfit for Heidi's new baby line. The addition of the "fake" babies in the workroom was absolutely ridiculous. How is becoming the next great American designer come down to whether or not you can babysit. I am a Mom, I can't sew for shit. Does this make me a bad Mom? Besides my rant, here are my thoughts from last night...
- Someone please get Fabio a baby! That boy was just jonesing for his own kid. Hope the boyfriend is watching because surrogacy or adoption is in your future after the display last night.
- Dimitry was very funny last night. He thought the whole thing was just as dumb as I did. But he did it and he made a Spiderman outfit.
- Christopher had to get the win. Both Elena and Melissa's outfits were awful and he was the only other girl's outfit.
- Thought they might do 2 boy winners because I did like both Fabio and Songia's outfits.
- I could not get Tim's take on the whole thing. He looked a little uncomfortable and I wondered if he was as on board as he said he was.
- So glad to see Elena go but didn't she look like she was going to punch Heidi at the end.
- Just a little irony to add to the mix, Elena says that she is so Avante Garde and she gets booted right before that challenge. All I imagined when I went to sleep was a giant in shoulder pads.
Am I completely off on last night? How did you feel about the challenge? Babies? Happy Friday!

What are you watching?
As the first real week of premiere week is happening, I have watched a couple of new shows and wanted to see what everyone else was thinking...
Partners - airs on Monday nights after How I Met Your Mother on CBS. Despite the fact that the show has Michael Urie from Ugly Betty (who I adore), the show is a little slow paced. Feeling like it is trying too hard to be the new Will and Grace without the Grace. Best friends, one gay, one straight and so on. I will try it again because of Michael Urie but I don't have my hopes up.
Ben and Kate - another sitcom on Fox that comes on at 8:30 right before New Girl. Brother and sister living together raising a child. Again, not sure. Liked the Pilot but I am not sure about the supporting players. The two leads, Nat Faxon and Dakota Johnson, are really good together and Maggie Jones as the child is absolutely adorable. I just don't like their friends. Hopes are higher on this one.
Go On - I think I mentioned this one with Matthew Perry before airing on NBC at 9:00 on Tuesday. Still watching it and I am liking it more and more. Although he is always Chandler Bing to me, I loved Chandler Bing so I am good with that. I really am liking the support group cast of characters and the storyline is fresh and not overdone. And as the best friend, John Cho's sarcasm always makes me laugh.
The New Normal - I have also mentioned this one before. Comes on Tuesdays after Go On and so far I am enjoying the gay couple surrogate storyline. Ellen Barkin as the bigoted grandmother is just spot on. Entertaining for sure. On the Tivo list.
So far that is all I got. I am going to check out Elementary tonight because I love Lucy Liu and the concept is appealing to me. I will let you know. Am I missing anything good? Let me know your thoughts so far. Remember this is a marathon not a sprint because we have many more shows to check out.

We saw the Mother, just not her face...
The season premiere of How I Met Your Mother was last night and as per use, it was a flashback within a flashback. The beginning was at Robin and Barney's wedding (please tell me it happens) and then Ted flashes back to how he (and everyone else) got to this point.
The episode itself was cute but not as mind blowing as I had hoped. Always love the sweet side of Barney and Robin and got a few moments of that last night. We met Robin's new boyfriend and witnessed Quinn's reaction to finding out about Barney and Robin's relationship. If you have not seen it, the 60 second explanation that Barney gives to Quinn about he and Robin and the history of their relationship is something to behold. Neil Patrick Harris is a master!
The Ted and Victoria stuff was a little lame I must admit. We already know that she is not the mother so I just wanted to get through the whole running away from the wedding thing. It was ironic that Klaus was leaving too but still move on...
And then in the final moments as Ted is reminiscing on platform 9 3/4 (just kidding) we get a glimpse of a woman with a guitar and a yellow umbrella.
My understanding is that this could be the final season of How I Met Your Mother. I have one word for this assumption. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Even if we never meet the mother, I would love to see Robin and Barney married, Marshall and Lily trying to raise a child with the coolest middle name ever and Ted being Ted.
Time will tell of course. As it always does with this show. What did you think?

Project Runway - Venless
What will Project Runway be like this season without Ven? Will we notice he is gone? Will the removal of his presence leave others with more workspace? We will stop hearing the words sophisticated and polished over and over again?
Last night's episode was an homage to the Rockettes and the designers had to create a new look for these ladies. Hmmmmmmm. Definitely costumes (which they are always told not to do) but kind of a cool, I heart New York challenge I guess. Anyway, some embraced the challenge (Dmitry, Christopher) while others had multiple meltdowns (Elena, Sonjia, Melissa).
Christopher won!
and I agree that he deserved it. I was not a fan of Dimitry's look but what do I know?
Ven was sent home, in all honesty, for being boring....finally!
A few other observations from last night...was Elena on something? The manic crying thing was overwhelming and uncomfortable to watch. Sonjia just seems like she has given up. And to think that purple feathers is a good idea? Ven really thought he had it. He thought his was the best one out there. Yawn.
Until next week....baby clothes?

So You Think You Can DANCE!
And the people (or the producers) got it right this time. Last night was the season finale of So You Think You Can Dance and the two best dancers actually won. As much as I liked Cyrus, I was glad to see Chehon take home the prize and as cute as Tiffany was, Eliana deserved the win. Great season and wonderful numbers abound. And by the way, Cat Deeley deserves an Emmy!

Glee!
I watched the season premiere of Glee last night and real quick before I go to work...thoughts...
Let me know what you thought and if you watched. Happy Friday everyone!
- Kate Hudson was phenomenal. Her body is incredible and her character was a combination of Satan and a drunk as a washed up dance teacher. Awesome!
- Liking the new blood on the "team" this season so far. The addition of Puck's brother (played by Jacob Artist ) and Marley the lunch lady's daughter (Melissa Benoist) are going to be fun and both voices are strong.
- Loved the "who will be the next Rachel" storyline and as much as people trash it "Call Me Maybe" is a fun tune.
- Not sure about the addition of Wade/Unique. Will have to see how that one plays...
- Love Kurt's dad and watching him send Kurt to New York.
- Rachel's dorm boy is cute (don't know who he is but does this mean the end for Finchel)
Let me know what you thought and if you watched. Happy Friday everyone!

So You Think You Can Dance (?)
I am going to make myself highly unpopular when I go on this little rant. I love this show. I love the talent on this show. I am in awe at what some of these kids can do (Chehon, Eliana). I find that it lessens the quality of the show when someone like Cyrus makes it to the Top 4. Please understand, this kid (Cyrus) is amazing. I think he is great at what he does (remarkable) but he has not been able to translate his dance into other styles of dance and he is lacking in the skills department for other genres. Now people will say, what about Joshua or Twitch or even Legacy who were hip-hop boys that could hold their own in other styles. That's just it, they could hold their own (and even amaze) in other styles. Cyrus can not. If not for outstanding partnering he would be lost. The judges will say what about personality and showmanship and Cyrus has that, in spades, but this is still a dance show. I hope to see 2 of the other 3 win this season (did not even mention Tiffany and she is a wonderful dancer as well), I just think that to maintain the integrity of the show, Cyrus does not need to take the title. If he wins America's favorite dancer, it seems unfair to the those that have trained so hard and for so long to make it to this point. Shouldn't the favorite be a true dancer in every sense of the word?

Spread the beauty...
I guess it is true, the beautiful people stick with the beautiful people! With Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively getting married over the weekend, the world is guaranteed to have fewer beautiful ones running around (imagine what could happen if they spread their genetics to just mediocre looking people). Anyway, I am happy for them, I guess. Their kids will be good looking for sure.

Project Runway - Elena Sucks
I finally watched Project Runway and I have come to the conclusion that Elena sucks and I want Dmitry to either punch her in the lip or to make something besides a "seemple" dress. Can't say I was surprised about Alicia going home. Oh and did anyone else think that Ven, Melissa and Fabio's models looked fat and frumpy in their outfits?
Just sayin....

Congrats to Michael Strahan
The worst kept secret in Daytime Television has finally been revealed. Michael Strahan is the new co-host for Kelly Ripa and the show will now be known as Live with Kelly and Michael. I am excited for Michael Strahan and excited for the show. I watched the premiere today and I love his personality. It will take him a few episodes to get in the groove but this show will do well. I just love it when a former football player does something (anything) besides movng into the sports broadcast booth. Looking forweard to watching Live!

Happy Labor Day
Happy Labor Day my friends. I am taking the hubby and the kiddos and we are hitting the beach with fried chicken and cold beer. As of tomorrow I am a working woman with a class (kids in preschool start after Labor Day) so I have been spending a lot of my time getting ready for a new school year. Oh and here is a laugh for you, my daughter's age group did not have enough soccer coaches, so yep I volunteered. Never played soccer in my life (I watched the Olympics though) so this should be interesting.
I have a couple of posts that I am working on and want to get them out this week. Been reading about the new shows for the Fall and I am intrigued by a few (Nashville anyone, love Connie Britton). Plus, I finally finished Newsroom (so good) and I am gearing up for the NFL season.
Happy "last day of summer" to you all and I will check in this week.

Finally
After two days at home because of flooding from Isaac, the kids are going back to school. I must admit I am going a little crazy. Remember that I love my children, but I have been with them 24/7 for the last 3 days cooped up in the house while it has poured down rain. Yep I am done and I need a break. Even if my break is going back to work.

Project Runway - Who to root for?
As always I am not recapping the latest episode of Project Runway, others do it better and funnier. However, I have an opinion and a few observations about last night. Now last night was the "real" women challenge where the designers had to dress women (not models) who were submitted by a friend for a makeover. These women were like me, you, your mom, your sister etc. Not stick skinny with no boobs and no hips. You know the people that actually buy the clothes. Anyway, some designers embraced the challenge, while others were absolute shits (no better word for it). With that said here are my observations...
So what did you think about last night? Am I completely wrong or was Ven really that bad? Who in the world should I be rooting for?
- I no longer like Ven. Last night he was an entitled ass who could not get over the fact that he had to dress a larger woman. He made this woman cry and I wanted to kick him in the ding-ding.
- Gunnar, in all his flamboyant "I want to be on TV" attitude is starting to grow on me, just a little. I hated him in the beginning and I retract what I said. He is not all bad.
- I actually like Dimitri but I did not think that his dress needed to be in the top 3. Don't know who it should have been but not him. He got in because his girl got a great haircut.
- Loved Christopher's jacket, hated the dress.
- Tim Gunn looked like he wanted to punch Ven in the lip.
- Nathan left with a lot of class! He knew that his was the worst and he admitted it.
- Fabio should have won. He deserved the win. The belt sucked but I really loved the dress.
So what did you think about last night? Am I completely wrong or was Ven really that bad? Who in the world should I be rooting for?

First day of school....
Yesterday was the first day of school for the kiddos (and my first day back to work). Everything went well and everyone was excited but we are all so damn tired. When you get used to getting up at 7:30 or 8 and all of a sudden have to start the morning at 6:00 it is a shock to the system. Anyway, school is back in session and now I am ready for Fall TV and Football!

How sad is too sad?
I took the kiddos to see "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" this weekend and let me just warn you; I cried like a baby for about 45 minutes. Not just sniffles, this was full on tears running down my chin, snot coming out of my nose and the lady next to me looking at my weird crying. Now both my children said they did not cry, but their eyes were suspiciously red when we walked out of the theater. Should I have taken them to this movie? Was it too old for them? I am still debating both of these questions. As most of you probably assume (SPOILER ALERT) the child "dies" at the end. But my kids wanted no discussion about it. We came home and they went about their day as if nothing happened, Do we, as parents, make too big of a deal about this stuff? The movie was good, I am just not sure if it was that kid friendly.
Then I started thinking, when we were kids we all had those movies that made us cry, and I don't remember it ever being a big deal. ET, Old Yeller, Pollyanna, and so on I remember fondly and never thought they were inappropriate. I think sometimes we are so worried about protecting our children that we don't realize how well they can handle the big stuff, if only we would let them.
So what were your sad movies you remember as a kid? Am I right about this stuff not staying with us as adults or are you ruined because of these sad movies?
Then I started thinking, when we were kids we all had those movies that made us cry, and I don't remember it ever being a big deal. ET, Old Yeller, Pollyanna, and so on I remember fondly and never thought they were inappropriate. I Love So You Think You Can Dance but...
This new elimination concept is driving me crazy. For those of you who do not watch So You Think You Can Dance, this year instead of having an entire hour on a different night to eliminate dancers, it is all done in one night. I understand that the elimination night was brutal but this "all in one night" thing is even more so. Not only that but last night consisted of dancers performing routines that had already been done? As a tribute to Mia Michaels, the dancers danced her iconic pieces. I don't like comparing dancers. I don't like the fact that we have seen these routines before and for the really amazing ones it is hard to get the previous dancers out of our head. Sorry I am just bitching a little. I love this show and I don't like change. Plus that cute little Matthew (who looks a little like Ryan Gosling) was eliminated last night and Cyrus is still around. Sometimes talent is not enough.

Why don't I pay more attention....
I watched a movie last night, What's Your Number, with Ana Faris and Chris Evans. How is it that I have never noticed how cute Chris Evans is? The movie was cute but dumb (hubby out of town so I get to watch crap like this) but a shirtless Chris Evans was something to gawk. Keep in mind that I have seen The Fantastic Four, Captain America and The Avengers and I never really payed much attention to him. Now I will!

As cheesy as this is...
I am really happy for Jennifer Aniston. I read the blurb on People.com last night about her engagement to Justin Theroux and it made me smile. OK, OK, I know that we are not really friends (but we could be) and I also know that her "heartache" over the whole Brad Pitt thing could have been a stupid concocted story to sell Tabloid magazines (which I read). However (and this is a big but), it is nice to see someone who has had a lot of boyfriends (a lot) finally find the one. And no I will not place bets on if the wedding will happen, or how long the marriage will last because Jenn and I could have been friends in another life and I would not do that to a friend (unless I really hated the groom to be). So congrats Jennifer. May it last and may you be happy! See how mature I can be!

Back to Life, Back to Reality
I have returned! Not sure if anyone was wondering but I am finally back in my own home after being gone for 3 weeks. 2 weeks were spent in North Carolina with the family (and for those Democrats in the group Charlotte is looking good). And then, I spent last week in Puerto Rico with my girls that I grew up with for our 40th birthday celebration (no husbands, no kids, just a casino and a swim up pool bar). Trying to play catch up (as I always seem to be doing) and wanting to know how everyone is doing. Let me know if anything exciting has happened while I have been away and I will try to catch up on the shows this week. Missing you all....

Project Runway...well we will see!
I never recap this show (others do it better) but I had a few observations from last night's fairly boring season premiere.
- The Times Square thing was kind of cool but I will bet many of those fans could not see a damn thing.
- I love Lauren Graham but she had very little to say and her comments were not all that great.
- Gunnar, really? I read somewhere that is name sounded like a Slytheran name for sure. Loved the reference. He is just trying for airtime (and succeeding) but it seems put on and stupid to me. So I will try not to mention him again.
- Loved Ven and think that the win should have gone to him. Both his pieces were great and I enjoyed his aesthetic.
- Christopher was entertaining. His dress and the movement was wonderful but his second dress sucked. He should not have won but what do I know?
- Loved when Christopher called Gunnar out for being on the wrong show (he should have been on Toddlers and Tiaras) hilarious. (sorry mentioned Gunnar again)
- The man with the big hair and Chinese accent (don't know his name yet) was a little weird but entertaining so far. He might get on my nerves but we will see...

Emmy Nominations - Well hmmm
I want to begin this by saying, I have an immature view of television. I enjoy television as a diversion from my life and to that effect, I do not want to be made to think too much. I love comedies and dramas but my dramas have to be with a hint of comedy. Who wants to switch off the television and be depressed, I mean really what is the point. So with all of that said, I have many, many issues with the Emmy nominations.
- Once Upon a Time is one of the most creative shows on television and no one thinks it is worthy of any awards?
- Has anyone seen Casey Wilson on Happy Endings? Her character is one of the funniest on television and she does not get a nod?
- No drama on network television was nominated. Not one! Revenge, Fringe, Once Upon a Time, The Good Wife, Parenthood and I could go on. Many people in this world do not have cable. Just sayin.
- Veep and Girls over Cougartown, How I Met Your Mother (one of its best seasons this year), Happy Endings, New Girl and so on. Just because a show is on HBO does not mean that it is good.
- I feel as if the supporting acting categories have been taken over by Modern Family this year. I love the show. I do. But do all of them deserve to be on the list this year?

Bachelorette Tonight!
Tonight is the night that we have all been waiting for. No not the Bachelorette finale when Emily chooses the lucky man (Jef is the assumption). Tonight is the "Men Tell All" episode when all of the discarded men get together and talk trash about Emily and Emily gets to pointedly ask questions to the men that said things to the camera that she discovered after the fact. Kalon will get grilled, Sean will be swooned over, Ryan will be the villain and then the ones that we never really knew will just sit there and hope to get on some of the outtakes to extend what is probably their final bit of the 15 minutes that they have left.
Tune in tonight....

Here we go again....
Heading to NC for a few weeks with the kiddos and my posting will be scarce (actually it is in the summer anyway). I hope that you all have a wonderful rest of the summer and I will try to stay in touch as much as I can. My computer does go with me on these treks. Love to you all and be safe...

Harvard Baseball Team - Call Me Maybe
If you have not seen the Harvard Baseball Team's YouTube rendition of Carly Rae Jepson's Call Me Maybe it is a must see. My 8 year old daughter watches it over and over again just because. Hilarious!

The Newsroom - is anyone watching?
So I am playing catch up these days but I wanted to give a shout out to Aaron Sorkin's newest show, The Newsroom. I have watched the first two episodes and I am hooked. No spoilers because I have not watched last night's show yet but this show is phenomenal. Remember how much we all loved The West Wing the first 2 or 3 seasons? Well this is how I am feeling about this show. Plus, the show airs on HBO which I know gives Sorkin a lot more leeway in his writing. Jeff Daniels is so believable as a newsman only worried about ratings and Emily Mortimer as his former girlfriend and current EP (executive producer) is deliciously zany. I know that the reviews have been mixed for the show but I must say that thus far, I am impressed. I get so frustrated when the "smart" people of the world trash a show for following a format and developing stereotypes (apparently this is an Aaron Sorkin thing) when we (as in everyone) must remember that we are watching the show for entertainment purposes. Yes, I enjoy snappy dialogue and interesting plots but remember this is television. It is supposed to be an escape from our real lives. Let me know if anyone else is watching? I would love to hear your thoughts...

Magic Mike....well...hmm
So I went to see the much-anticipated (by me) stripper movie, Magic Mike, last night. It was good (read good not great) but I wanted more. It was a Steven Soderbergh movie so I should have realized that the movie was not going to be as fun as I had hoped it would be. Not enough stripping, too many serious scenes and definitely not enough Joe Manganiello. I went in thinking we would see more of Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer and their parts were small (as in if you blinked you missed them). I am not complaining about the amount of screen time for Channing Tatum but the story was completely about him and not about the other strippers. Plus Matthew McConaughey was sleazy and gross looking. He drawled it out with his "alright, alright" and for his character, he was perfect but in no way did his Dallas turn me on. Don't get me wrong, there were some man-candy scenes, just not enough.
Side note, in front of us in the theater were 6 women in their late 60's, early 70's. Could not help but laugh when we walked out and the assisted living bus was there to take them home. Do you think that there was a rush to sign up for this movie trip at the old-folks home?

Are people really this stupid....
As most of you know I went to Key West last week for my birthday and had a wonderful vacation. Now you also must know that Key West is known for its strong and thriving gay community (fun clubs baby). Anyway, one of the days we were there we had torrential downpours. Enough so that the streets were flooded with some nasty stuff (Key West sewage has no where to go people). On this day we braved the rains and drank in a bar all day. I discovered later that I had a cut on my foot and had been walking through the rain water (and other stuff) with an open wound. It is fine but I have been laughing about my gangrene because of the nastiness of the water....
Here is the stupid part...I mentioned this to one of the teachers at work and she literally told me that I needed to go have an HIV test. Because of all those gays (her words) in Key West, was I not worried about what they were doing on the street (really) and with an open wound I could get anything. Are you kidding me? First of all, the only people I saw having sex or anything else on the street were straight and gross (I mean fat and happy people) and did she naturally assume that all gays have HIV (because of course they do) and if they did why would they not release all bodily fluids on the street?
I was just flabbergasted that this woman had these thoughts in her head. It is no longer the 80's and I assumed that most people were better informed and more careful and not so stereotypical. I honestly laughed at her and let her know that I was not concerned and then mentioned the gay bar that we went in to have a drink.

Back from Key West...
Just got back from Key West and I must tell you all, I am feeling old. We ate, we drank and we drank, and we drank. It was so fun but it is going to take some time to recover from this one. All things considered it was a wonderful vacation and here are my recommendations...Colombian Grace for dinner, Blue Heaven for breakfast, Irish Kevin's and Pete's for drinking (actually all places good for drinking), head up to the Garden of Eden to ogle the naked people, and back to Ricks to watch people have sex on the dance floor, scooters are wonderful when it is not raining, and the Casa Marina was an exquisite place to stay. Now I am going to continue to drink water (a lot) and try to return to the land of the living. Missed you all.

Having a pity party (just a little bit)
Today is the last day of my 30's. Yep that's right, tomorrow I will enter my 40's and I am not handling it very well. I am just not where I pictured myself at 40. I will be fine tomorrow but I needed to whine just a little bit.
On the plus side, the husband and I leave for Key West on Sunday for a little vacay. Any suggestions of fun bars and restaurants would be much appreciated.

Mommy Porn????
I just finished reading all 3 books in the 50 Shades of Grey series. I don't know if you have heard of these books but this is the latest Mom phase. Basic concept, the book is a "love" story between a college student and Mr. Christian Grey who is a kinky ass man that likes weird sex. The entire book is sex mixed in with a little dialogue. Mom's everywhere are reading the books, getting horny and then having lots more sex with their husbands. Did I mention that Mr. Christian Grey is written as the most beautiful man ever?
So I read them and well....its hard to explain. I get the appeal but I don't understand why. The books are compelling, the sex scenes are descriptive (albeit a little repetitive) and I have a crush on Christian Grey. But, I just don't know why I could not put the books down. As for the horny thing, well....the jury is still out on that one. Some of the kinky ass shit made me a little uncomfortable and this couple had sex 2 to 7 times a day.
Now the hollywood people are talking about making a movie. The question is, who will play Christian Grey? Who is beautiful enough to play this role (and make us watch the kinky ass sex scenes)? One to think about.
This is what I have been doing the last couple of days.

My week....
I am missing my peeps and my television right now. Last week was the end of school for me. Of course, my youngest proceeds to get the stomach bug that lasted 4 days (and honestly she is still not 100%). I think she lost 5 pounds (hmmm maybe I should try to get it). Then I had to go to Orlando for training or continuing education for 2 days. Now I am upon the last week of school for my kiddos and I am entrenched in field trips, parties and end of the year teacher gifts. With that said, I am behind on all my shows and behind on my blog check ins as well. I do hope that everyone is doing well and I will be checking back in soon. Later all....

Schools Out for the Summer!
One of the best things about being a teacher, besides the whole molding young minds thing, is that there is an end date to our year. Yep that is right, I am done for the summer. School is out and I am so ready for a break this year. I am looking forward to hanging with my kids travelling a little and just taking a deep breath. My kids have 8 more days so I am trying to get the house in order so that when they are done, we can play. Happy Summer to you all!

I sometimes take for granted my life and how great it actually is. Thank you to all that make my life and all of our lives possible. I am in awe of selfless people. Happy Memorial Day to all and here is hoping that the ones fighting now can come home very soon.

Forget Something?
I don't normally watch music awards shows. But I was perusing the blogs after the Billboard Music Awards Sunday night just to see who won and some of the crazy outfits. This one stood out to me and obviously not in a good way....
I think that Miley Cyrus is trying so hard to not be Hannah Montana anymore that she forgot her pants (and a dress and to open her eyes). This looks like the jacket you throw on the morning after a one night stand and you have to hurry home (aka the walk of shame). I get it, no more child star, but at least try to purchase an entire outfit....
