Glee!

I watched the season premiere of Glee last night and real quick before I go to work...thoughts...

  • Kate Hudson was phenomenal.  Her body is incredible and her character was a combination of Satan and a drunk as a washed up dance teacher.  Awesome!
  • Liking the new blood on the "team" this season so far.  The addition of Puck's brother (played by Jacob Artist ) and Marley the lunch lady's daughter (Melissa Benoist) are going to be fun and both voices are strong.
  • Loved the "who will be the next Rachel" storyline and as much as people trash it "Call Me Maybe" is a fun tune.
  • Not sure about the addition of Wade/Unique.  Will have to see how that one plays...
  • Love Kurt's dad and watching him send Kurt to New York.
  • Rachel's dorm boy is cute (don't know who he is but does this mean the end for Finchel)
Not all of my questions were answered about the Lima kids but  the premiere set things up to hopefully have a good season.  Little concerned about the number of storylines but as always it will be interesting to watch.

Let me know what you thought and if you watched.  Happy Friday everyone!

I really love the playoffs....

It is actually chilly down here in sunny south Florida today.  And what better way to spend the day than to eat wings, drink beer and watch the NFL playoffs.  I have not done well in my NFL pool this year (I will not be walking away with any money) but I still love to watch.  I made my picks this morning and picked all of the underdogs, just for shits and giggles.  So today I am a San Francisco and Denver fan and tomorrow I will be a Houston and New York fan.  I will let you know how I do.  And if Denver beats the Patriots I may even make my children Tebow.  Happy Saturday everyone!!!!

I am a Conservative...but

I am, and have always been, a Conservative when speaking of Political views.  I have never been a "Sarah Palin", I was always more of a "John McCain" (before he ran for President).  My lean to the right has always been about less government, taxes and world policy.  However I have never been a "perfect" Republican because I have two very strong beliefs that definitely lean all the way to the left.  I believe in a woman's right to choose (I always have and it became more pronounced when I had a daughter) and I believe that marriage is about love, between any two people.  With all of that said, I would like to congratulate all of the people who worked so hard to make New York finally recognize Gay Marriage as legal.  This is a true step in the right direction and it makes me happy that anyone who wants to marry, now has that ability.  Now if we could only find David Dust a husband all would be right with the world...

Heading North

I am actually heading to New York today. I almost emailed my friend David Dust but this trip is more about family than anything. My older sister, who lives in NY, was diagnosed with breast cancer in October. She has been very lucky and was able to come away from the cancer with a single mastectomy and a clean bill of health (so far). Today she will begin her reconstructive process and I am heading up to Yankeeville to help with her two younguns (ages 2 and 4). Say a little prayer that everything goes as planned and I will be back Sunday or Monday. And for my friends who live in "the city", next time I head north of the Mason Dixon line it will be all about being social. Have a great weekend everyone!
