My Ode to the Emmys

My tradition is to watch. I get excited. I order takeout. I stake my claim on the comfortable couch. The hour chimes. The show begins. The host is great. Of course. And then I realize. No show that I watch wins. Ever. I watch and watch. I cheer. I tear up. I even laugh. Why do I watch? Do my shows suck? Am I missing something? Waste of time? Or still a tradition.

I was right there with you smiling, laughing, tearing up, and enjoying this one more than I have in a long time.

I have to watch the Oscars no matter what and nearly always watch the Emmys. I also watch the BAFTA, SAG, Independent Spirit, and Tony Award shows. What can I say?

I know what you mean, however, I do watch both 30 Rock and Mad Men so I was happy but Jon Hamm was robbed! Anyway, all the shows that were nominated are on premium cable stations thus more exclusive. I just can't justify spending an arm and leg for tv. It's crazy to me. My one other thing from the Emmy's was did you notice during the drama montage that FNL got about 2.2 secs of playing time?! about time! Doesn't excuse the snub but at least it made the cut.

Joy and Beth I agree. What is it about the awards shows that get us hooked. Beth I was glad to see FNL on the big screen (still want Kyle Chandler's name called or Connie Britton one I am not picky).
