We saw the Mother, just not her face...

The season premiere of How I Met Your Mother was last night and as per use, it was a flashback within a flashback.  The beginning was at Robin and Barney's wedding (please tell me it happens) and then Ted flashes back to how he (and everyone else) got to this point.

The episode itself was cute but not as mind blowing as I had hoped.  Always love the sweet side of Barney and Robin and got a few moments of that last night.  We met Robin's new boyfriend and witnessed Quinn's reaction to finding out about Barney and Robin's relationship.  If you have not seen it, the 60 second explanation that Barney gives to Quinn about he and Robin and the history of their relationship is something to behold. Neil Patrick Harris is a master!

The Ted and Victoria stuff was a little lame I must admit.  We already know that she is not the mother so I just wanted to get through the whole running away from the wedding thing.  It was ironic that Klaus was leaving too but still move on...

And then in the final moments as Ted is reminiscing on platform 9 3/4 (just kidding) we get a glimpse of a woman with a guitar and a yellow umbrella.

My understanding is that this could be the final season of How I Met Your Mother.  I have one word for this assumption.  Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.  Even if we never meet the mother, I would love to see Robin and Barney married, Marshall and Lily trying to raise a child with the coolest middle name ever and Ted being Ted.

Time will tell of course.  As it always does with this show.  What did you think?

The Regis Thing

I just sat down and checked in with David Dust (as I do most days) and was saddened and surprised to discover that Regis is retiring from Live.  Before I worked every day I made sure to check in with Regis and Kelly most mornings (I could not stomach Kathie Lee).  In fact (and be prepared for a downer) on September 11th, I was watching Regis and Kelly, feeding my new baby.  During the show was when the 2nd plane hit.

Anyway, I have loved the show and it will be hard to get used to a new person in the Reeg seat.  I have been thinking about who I would want to take the seat and I do have a few suggestions for the producers...

Nick Lachey - I do love him.  Any time he has had to fill in, he has been personable, funny and very easy on the eyes.  I like his banter with Kelly and he has proven he has hosting abilities (hey I liked the Sing-Off).

Neil Patrick Harris - You knew I would suggest this one.  I can see it, but he is very busy.  He has the same easy personality that Reeg has and again...easy on the eyes.

Mark Consuelos - This one will come up.  I don't think I could handle the husband/wife team though.  Too much about their home life and not enough fun.

Arsenio Hall - Whatever happened to him?

Carson Daly - Is he still on late night?  Maybe he wants a job during the day?  I wonder if he is too, "I'm to cool for this shit" though...

Anyone else have any suggestions?  Will you miss Regis?  I know more about Notre Dame now than I ever did thanks to Regis.  He will be missed...

Congratulations to NPH

As most of you know I adore Neil Patrick Harris.  If I were to have a gay boyfriend, he would be it (after David Dust of course).  So I was pleased to get his tweet today (of course I follow him) about expecting twins in the fall. His tweet was as follows.... So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We're super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy... So excited for he and his long time partner.  I love good news!

You Say Its Your Birthday....

I turn 38 years old today. I know I know I am old. No longer a member of the mid-30's club I have moved up to LATE 30's. One thing that does make me smile today is the discovery of the star that shares my birthday.

Yep you guessed it, the man who never lets me down and always entertains....NPH! Neil Patrick Harris shares my birthday (he is a year younger but whose counting).

So Happy Birthday to me and Happy Birthday to Neil (and Happy Birthday to Courtney Cox too but she is older and looks really good in a bikini...bitch). Maybe just maybe Neil will want to hang out with me (maybe I will become a stalker in my LATE 30's).

Glee is the Sh#t!

I must meet Neil Patrick Harris! He is now on my list of the things to do (not do just meet) before I die. After last weeks lackluster episode of Glee I had high hopes for tonight's episode with special guest NPH and he (and the show too) lived up to my expectations. The "Dream On" duet with NPH and Matthew Morrison was probably one of my favorite moments of the season. Absolutely amazing and hilarious at the same time.

The minute I think the show might run out of ideas and then the "dream" episode is upon us. Plus all of our "dreams" have come to fruition. Idina Menzel is in fact Rachel's mother (I mean how could she not be; look at her). My goodness her voice is spectacular. And we were all right, Jesse was never in to Rachel, he was just doing an acting exercise to help his vocal coach.

Great episode once again to a show that never fails to put a smile on my face. Oh and Neil Patrick Harris is awesome if you have any doubts about my obsession (is it OK for me to be obsessed with a gay man when I am a straight woman?).

NPH on Glee Details...

Michael Ausiello is my God. He has discovered the information about Neil Patrick Harris' Glee appearance (EW.com). Read below:

It’s official: Neil Patrick Harris’ forthcoming guest appearance on Glee will without a doubt be legen — wait for it… here it comes — dary.

I just got my hands on some fresh intel surrounding Harris’ role in the Joss Whedon-helmed episode, so you best stop reading, spoilerphobes!

According to a Glee insider, NPH will play Bryan Adam (ha!), a high school glee club nemesis of Will’s (Matthew Morrison) who resurfaces as a board member at William McKinley.

“Flashback scenes will show Bryan picking up girls and getting all the cool solos,” reveals the source, “while Will sits off in the sidelines.”

The stage for a present-day rematch is set when Harris’ character announces his intent to cut the arts programs at the school. “Show choir ruined his life, made him feel he could be a star, but all he could do is book Carnival cruises,” explains the insider. “Now he wants vengeance.”

The episode — which I’m told features a climactic duet between Harris and Morrison — goes before the cameras next week and is slated to air during May sweeps.

Legen — wait for it… here it comes — dary stuff, right?

BTW, Glee returns with the first of nine new episodes in 40 days.

I am so excited about this news and cannot wait until Glee returns (have I said this too much).

How Great is This???

So a rumor is almost confirmed (read almost) and I am very excited. What could make Glee better for me? Not many things (or people) could except...wait for it...yep you guessed it. Neil Patrick Harris is very close to a deal to guest star on the show. And (I know there is more) not only will he be guesting but Joss Whedon (of Buffy fame) will be directing. I am so excited I almost feel as if I may have won something at the Golden Globes. Read Ausiello on EW.com (here) for the full story.

The Emmy's Tonight

I am wildly excited about watching NPH (for you uninformed that's Neil Patrick Harris) host the Emmy's tonight. I hope that he does not disappoint. I also hope that he finally wins a well-deserved statue. I almost boycotted this years show when my beloved Friday Night Lights was once again ignored. But once I found out NPH was hosting, I almost (read almost) forgave the Emmy people. So I am looking forward to tonight and I hope to comment on the show throughout (after I eat my Chinese takeout). I love my little traditions. So get ready everyone. Stars arrive at 6:00 (EST) on E.

What do you think of the nominations? Obviously this is a short list. I posted what I had (just enough to know that my show was screwed).

It's a done deal: Neil Patrick Harris hosting Emmys

For the full story check out EW.com (here). Let me just say that this is a worthy choice and as most of you know; I love this man! The Emmys are my favorite awards show and having NPH hosting is just the icing on the cake. I cannot wait until September 20th. I do wonder if he will be nominated and what happens if a host actually wins (because it is about time that he did anyway). In a perfect world NPH wins and someone (namely Connie Britton or Kyle Chandler) wins from Friday Night Lights. And I think to myself what a wonderful world!

Two Shows to Check Out (if you are not already)

I just read an article on EW.com that both Chuck and How I Met Your Mother are struggling in the ratings. Both of these shows are on my radar (and in my Tivo inbox) I just don't discuss them because of so many others. Some shows I just want to watch for pleasure people.

Anyway, just a shout out to you all. Check out both of these shows if you are not already. Zachary Levi as Chuck is hilarious and really pulls off the goofy, James Bond thing (if that is possible) really well. As for Neil Patrick Harris on How I Met Your Mother; well you all know how I feel about him. He was robbed at the Emmy's; robbed (sorry Jeremy Piven)! His character Barney is the funniest, most awesome character on television right now.
