How I Met Your Mother - The Barnman and Robin?

Do not read this if you have not watched tonight's season finale of How I Met Your Mother....

I am so excited!  I know that the people on this show are not real but I feel as if I know Marshall and Lily, Ted, Barney and Robin.  So I spent the evening watching my friends have a baby, get engaged to the wrong woman, run off with the wrong woman, and eventually marry the right woman (I hope).

As previously stated, Marshall and Lily finally gave birth to their son.  It took Marshall awhile to arrive but he finally made it to greet Marvin Waitforit Erickson into this world (coolest middle name ever).

We then watched Robin give Ted a pep talk about the one that got away (Victoria) and he called her.  Victoria agreed to meet up with Ted, in her wedding gown no less and they had a little chat.  Next thing we know Ted and Victoria are running off together.  Really?????

And then there was Barney (and Quinn).  They were off to Hawaii but first Barney got stopped by security with a suspicious looking box that just so happened to have an engagement ring in it for Quinn.  No!!!!!!!

Fast forward into the future and we once again get a glimpse of Barney's wedding day but we finally get to see the bride and it is....wait for it....Robin!  Yes!  And all is right with the world.

What did you think?  Anyone?  Anyone?

Everything I wanted...I think?!

The season finale of Once Upon a Time last night was everything I wanted and more, I think.  Snow and Charming together in both lands, Emma slaying the dragon, Henry coming back from the dead, Regina getting her comeuppance, etc, etc.  But, as any season finale will do, we were left with so many questions that will not be answered until next season.  Plus, did anyone else feel a little sorry for Regina/the Evil Queen?  I like to hate my villains, not feel sorry for them.  Anyway, the questions that will be left unanswered all summer....

  • What in the world is the purple stuff (I know its magic) but how will it affect Storybrook?
  • Will August be OK or is he destined to be a wooden puppet forever?
  • Will Jefferson ever find his daughter?
  • Does finding Belle make Gold/Rumple more human or will he still be a power-hungry crazy man?
  • What happens to Henry now?
  • Will Emma call Mary Margaret and David, Mom and Dad, and doesn't that seem weird since they are her age?
  • In Storybrook land does Red become a werewolf?
So my friends who love the show as much as I do, what are your burning questions?  Did I miss anything important?  How man months until our fairytale friends come back?

This Season of Friday Night Lights

My husband and I finished watching the last 4 episodes of Friday Night Lights: The Fourth Season last night and I have a few things to say about the best show on television.
  • Watching Tim Riggins walking into the jail in the final scenes actually made me cry.  Taylor Kitsch had an excellent season and broke my heart every week (which is a good thing).

  • I loved, loved, loved the fact that the season finale allowed Landry to come into his own.  He was always a source of comic relief and to actually stand up for himself and then to be the game hero was absolutely satisfying.  I also adored the final words that the coach had with Landry before he kicked his field goal and was it my imagination or did he call him Landry (instead of Lance) finally?
  • There is no way that Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton do not deserve Emmy awards.  The two of them had a phenomenal year.
  • Speaking of Ms. Britton, she really amazed me the last 3 or 4 episodes.  We are always supposed to identify more with the Coach (the show is called Friday Night Lights) but she too has a career that she adores and is exceptional at.  From the meetings with Becky to the press conference to the final scene when she steps down as the principal; my heart went out to her and it felt so real.  Thank you Connie Britton for keeping it real and giving us everything you have in this character.  Tami Taylor is beloved by us all.
  • Moving in to the fifth and final season (why does this make me tear up) I look forward to watching Vince, Luke, Tess and Becky grow and I was not saying that when we began.
  • So long and thank you to the wonderful characters of Matt, Landry, Julie and Tim Riggins.  Come back and visit (a lot).  We have enjoyed growing with you.
I know that I sound completely cheesy about this show.  If you watch you understand.  The characters get under your skin and you become invested in their lives (this is what makes a wonderful show).  If you don't watch, well then you are missing out.  Thank you Friday Night Lights for a terrific 4th season. Good luck to you all at the Emmy awards.

Glee!

I just wanted to say a few quick things about Glee last night (I have to go to work); Awesome, awesome and awesome! The fact that our Gleek kids went back to what made us love them in the first place and sang a collection of Journey songs made me all warm and fuzzy inside. I loved the whole performance (a little disappointed that we had less Mercedes and Kurt but beggars cannot be choosers) and really thought that they were going to win. Vocal Adrenaline was good (OK the performance was great) but it seemed a showcase for Jesse St. James and no one else (just saying). The Sue factor was expected (I thought she would vote for them eventually) but the Emma thing was a little out of the blue (we will have to see what happens with that one). I really enjoyed the whole thing and liked the nice twist of Shelby adopting Quinn's baby girl (everyone deserves a second chance). Is anyone else sad to see the show go for the summer? I am actually excited about the reruns this summer. What did you think of last night?

Bones was a little depressing...

With the onslaught of season finales happening I was excited about Bones and how this year (maybe the show's best yet) would end. Especially after the weird and uncomfortable vibes that we all felt last week when Bones herself started to question her commitment to solving murders. The mystery tonight (something about a hoarder and a lost love) was secondary to the drama unfolding as all of our favorite "squints" (and Booth too) decided to take a year off and pursue other interests. Bones to Indonesia, Booth to Afghanistan, and Hodgins and Angela to Paris. I can only assume that when we get back in the Fall it will be a year later and we can get back to the business of catching the bad guys. The goodbye in the airport was just a tad depressing. A hand hold; no hugging, no kissing and no promises. So now what? See you next year...

ABC Comedies...

I have been reading a few of the blogs about the ABC Wednesday night comedies; namely Modern Family and Cougartown. Many people were disappointed with the season finale of Modern Family (most liked the finale of Cougartown). Did anyone else watch the shows last night?

I thought Modern Family was at its basic best (basic being a good word here). Yes Hawaii was hilarious but last night the show was back in town and back to basics. Three families and their interconnected stories making me laugh. Who has ever been part of a family trying to get the "perfect" family photo and having that one person (Clair) dictate the entire thing? How about the bird in the house? I have actually had this happen and I reacted much worse than Mitchell did. And then of course Phil and Gloria at the basketball game with Phil sneaking in the snacks. I laughed throughout the entire episode and in no way was I bothered by the simplicity of the show. Great great season!

As for Cougartown; this is another show that rarely disappoints. I think that Courtney Cox has found the perfect character to show off her talent and I love the quirkiness of this entire cast. I told my husband last night that I want to start playing "penny can" just because the " cul-de-sac crew" does. And who did not love the techno remix of "part of being a couple"? Great night of television all the way around. Now next season I am hoping Bobby (my favorite) and Barb get something going. That would just be fantastic.

So did anyone else like the shows last night or were you (like many) disappointed?

Rough Night on GG

Season Finale last night on Gossip Girl certainly has the blogosphere yapping this morning. I am not sure who had the rougher night;

Dan who discovered that he still had feelings for Serena as she blows him off to go to Paris. Vanessa will not speak to him and Georgina shows up pregnant announcing he is the father. Oh and there was the little incident with Chuck (Dan punching him in the lip) that came up as well.

But then there was Jenny who is hated by all for trying to break up Lily and Rufus. Nate will never like her as more than a friend and to top it off she is being sent back to suburbia because she cannot hack it in the big city. To add insult to injury she sleeps with Chuck Bass (her fist time) because she is lonely and he blows her off the minute Blair walks in the apartment. Reality does sometimes slap you in the face Little J.

But wait, what about Chuck Bass? He declares his love for Blair and asks her to meet him at the top of the Empire State building. She doesn't show so he settles for Jenny Humphrey. Dan punches him out when he finds out just as Chuck is getting ready to propose to Blair. Chuck leaves town and gets shot in Prague.

My goodness it was a drama filled episode. Rufus and Lily are back together, Dorota had her baby and Serena and Blair have headed off to Paris. Did I miss anything? I have to say that after a lackluster year this was a finale the way finales are meant to be done. What did you think?

Final Three - Make Me a Supermodel

I am still convinced that Jonathon will win but I have to watch to see who comes away with the prize. We also get a glimpse at the families of our final three. Who do you think is going to win?

They all look good to me.

Gossip Girl - Here's How It Ended....

1. Georgina will officially be back next season and is looking to room with Blair at NYU (yes you heard me how hilarious will that be).

2. Rufus and Lily's son has arrived in New York to search for them and has already made contact with Dan (unknowingly I think).

3. Nate had another "Mrs. Robinson" moment and opted to backpack with Jessica for the summer. Not sure what this means or if I care.

4. Rufus and Lily are engaged and (I assume) moving in together in the Bass pad.

5. Little J is the new queen at Constance (again not sure if I care).

6. Serena met up with Carter (who) again and is now searching for her father this summer. I was unaware that he was missing but always a mystery.

7. Chuck finally (finally) told Blair that he loved her and they are going to live happily ever after (yeah right).

8. And......still no identity of Gossip Girl has been discovered. Shocker I know but she (or he) did play with everyone last night (very funny). All secrets were revealed but surprisingly no one really cared (for very long).

So that was it. We have to wait until the fall to find out how everyone fared over the summer. Oh and one more thing; the spinoff 80's flashback has been cancelled (can you be cancelled if you never started). So no young Lily to get to know. I must say I am a little bummed. No matter what I would have loved the music. XOXO

Gossip Girl - Graduation Tonight

I am embarrassingly excited about tonight's season finale of Gossip Girl. I have been waiting all year for Chuck and Blair to get together and tonight could be the night. As for the other drama expected (Georgina et al) that is just icing on the cake. Recap tomorrow. Is anyone else excited (or am I the only loser with no life outside television)?

HIMYM - Season Finale Tonight!

Will Barney declare his love for Robin tonight? Are we any closer to figuring out who the "mother" is? And what is up with the goat? Stay tuned for the season finale of How I Met Your Mother tonight. Please let it be funny, please let it be funny, please let it be funny....
